New Warslow projects add to rural housing choice
March 2010
Two new construction projects are under way in Warslow marking Amos Group’ continuing involvement in the provision of much-needed affordable family homes within the Peak District.
Working on behalf of a social landlord, the company is constructing three pairs of semi-detached, three-bedroom houses on part of the former Warslow Industrial Estate site.
Built in natural materials and meeting the high design standards required within the National Park, the homes occupy a prominent position on the edge of the Staffordshire Moorlands village.
On a nearby site, Amos Group is carrying out a second contract for the same housing association. This project will involve the refurbishment of a derelict cottage into an up-to-date two-bedroom home and the conversion of disused livestock building into two two-bedroom houses.
Elsewhere in the Peak Park, Amos Developments has successfully completed a £1.2million contract from East Midlands Association to design and build ten affordable homes at Over Lane in the Derbyshire village of Baslow.
An earlier development in Baslow – six family homes at Eaton Place built for Equity Housing Association – has recently passed its 12-month inspection with flying colours, underlining the properties’ high build standards.
